Multigenerational Family Photos at Notre Dame
Notre Dame was the perfect location for this small extended family. It seemed almost effortless to achieve these tender, sweet photos. This little guy l-o-v-e-s his Grandpa. <3
Extended Family Photos in South Bend
While her in-laws were visiting from abroad, she knew how meaningful it would be to capture extended family photos at Notre Dame. Not only does her husband work there, so they spend a ton of time on campus, but her in-laws are devout in their faith so the campus atmosphere was especially meaningful. An extended family session can be quite small, as shown here: just two couples and one child. I always take a mix of nuclear family photos plus all the big group photos. Variety! You can see from this gallery just how many beautiful pockets there are to take photos at on campus. Family pictures at ND are really, really pretty. The architecture gives your family some structure. It’s always nice when you can sit on/lean on/stand in front of something. It feels less awkward. All the sidewalks bounce reflective light to your pretty face. Unless you’re a super-fam or a tourist, we don’t even have to shoot near any landmarks. The gardens, multitude of beautiful buildings and new area by the lake are all stunning in their own right. Who knew the South Dining Hall was so picturesque?
One thing to consider: you’re be walking a lot. This might not be for you if anyone in your group isn’t able-bodied.
