Family Pictures with Older Kids
Don’t stop scheduling family pictures because your kids aren’t little anymore. Last month, my 14 year old was a hair shorter than me. This month, he’s got me by an inch and half. He is growing before my eyes. This mom said her 14 year old grew 7 inches this year, “and that’s one of the main reasons we are getting photos taken again! He looks so different!” If you really value an updated family photo, don’t stop when those kids go all squirrelly on you during the teenage years.
Taking pictures of older kids has its own set of challenges, but honestly- it’s SO much easier than it used to be on you, Mom. You don’t really even need an ice cream bribe. YES, 14 year old boys have attitude for days, but most of the time, they chill out enough for a stranger. I think every single 14 year old boy that I’ve had the opportunity to take photos of hated every second of it if I’m honest, but they survived and so did I! Hahaha.
The drive to this session took longer than the actual photography by about half. I think this session was about 21 minutes start to finish… maybe?! Here’s some older kid family pictures inspiration for you. <3
