The Steele Family Film + Photos | Brown County Family Photographer

A ten-year dream.
A two-year build.
And countless hours of planning, hoping, and hard work that led to this.

Two years of site prep, design decisions, picnics in the field, and creek walks while clearing literal garbage from the property — the Steeles finally did it. They’re home.

Sure, the boxes are still stacked in every room, the couch is on backorder, and the walls are waiting for photos and memories (I can completely relate — we just moved ourselves!). But none of that matters… because it’s theirs.

And stepping inside felt like witnessing a dream come true.

A couple prepares food side by side in their bright new farmhouse kitchen. Captured by Lindsey DeCicco Photography, this Brown County family film session highlights the warmth and everyday beauty of home life.

A Story Beyond the Walls

Since the Steeles have been visiting this property for years, they’ve already carved paths through the woods, found the best creek crossings, and discovered their favorite walking routes.

We tried to beat the rain, but ended up dancing through a light sprinkle — just enough to make everything glisten before we ran inside. Thankfully, I had mud boots ready (and I was so glad I did!).

This film isn’t about the new house just yet — that story will come later, once it’s filled with memories and echoes of laughter.

For now, this one’s about place — the land that’s held their dreams for a decade, the family that made it real, and the joy of finally being able to call it home.

Simple Joys and Messy Magic

Come along with us as we:
🌿 Plant fairy gardens
🪵 Splash in good old Brown County mud
🌸 Pick wildflower bouquets
🍄 Fry up their first-ever morel mushrooms (found that very day!)

These are the stories I love to tell — the kind that show life exactly as it is: beautiful, imperfect, and full of heart.

Every family has its own rhythm, its own version of “home.” Whether it’s the first days in a new space or the backyard that’s seen a thousand memories, I’d love to help you capture it.
