Family Photos the LDP Way | An In-Home Documentary Family Session

Home is where the heart is, or in this family’s case, home is where a significant part of their future is. This couple met, fell in love and got married in different places around the country. Now, after a cross-country move and a brand new job in the area, they are happy to settle down in the South Bend area. Getting photos taken in their brand new build was a top priority, and I was so glad I had exactly one date that would accommodate them.

Taking unstaged photos is what makes my heart sing, as you can probably tell by all my family film work. Looking back on 2021 makes me so grateful, because people that value the candid photography I love to create are finally finding me.

Being photographed at home as a family of 4 (little doggy included) was important to this group, especially since that is their favorite place to be. Little V is really into books, her wagon and has boundless energy at 16 months. Mom and Dad are always chasing her up and down the stairs. They find tiny finger prints on the glass windows. There’s a constant opening and closing of all cabinets and drawers with sticky fingers. Who can relate? I sure can. I have never loved the open and shut door phase! But, oh that joy for life that children have at that age surely makes up for it, right?

Scroll all the way down to the bottom for a Mini Film. You knew I couldn’t resist!

Help me welcome this family not only to the Lindsey DeCicco Photography Family, but to the area!

Even though it was a photo-only session, I knew I could probably squeeze in a Mini Film to this documentary family photography session rather easily. I love the time capsule feel of this short book reading scene. I hope mom and dad will treasure it as she grows.
