Welcome Preston | Mishawaka In-Home Newborn Session
Sometimes the stars align perfectly—this sweet newborn session came together after I had a last-minute cancellation, which meant I could fit little Preston into the schedule. And honestly? I’m so glad it worked out this way.
This mama wanted a relaxed, in-home session to capture her baby’s earliest days—and that’s exactly my favorite way to photograph newborns. Those first couple of weeks can feel like such a blur, and leaving the house for a long studio session isn’t always ideal. At home, everyone is comfortable, siblings can come and go as they please, and if baby needs to nurse or have a diaper change, we simply pause and flow with the moment. The result? A gallery filled with real, unscripted memories—a time capsule of this fleeting season of life.
Big brother was especially excited to soak up a little attention of his own, even requesting a “backpack picture” (school must still be fresh on his mind!). Preston, meanwhile, was calm and cozy most of the session—until hunger struck, of course. That tiny scrunched-up face? Absolutely priceless.
These are the kinds of sessions I adore—the ones that feel natural, easy, and true to your family. The simple beauty of life at home is always worth remembering.
Here are a few of my favorite moments from Preston’s Mishawaka in-home newborn session.
