Some families come into your life and instantly feel like the sweetest blessing—and Baby Max and his mama were absolutely that. She originally reached out to me over the summer for newborn photos, but since I had my own baby in September, I couldn’t take on her session. Luckily, one of my favorite local photography friends stepped in and captured those once-in-a-lifetime newborn moments for them.
So when she contacted me again for Max’s 6-month session, I felt incredibly honored. Thanks to COVID-19 delays and a few battles with Indiana weather, our 6-month plan turned into a 7-month session—and honestly, it worked out perfectly. Max had even more sweet little tricks to show off. He’s sitting (briefly!), trying to crawl, standing with help, and absolutely determined to walk. Meanwhile, my own 8-month-old suddenly seemed like the chillest baby on the planet. Ha!
A few magical things aligned that day:
• Dad was able to make it after originally being scheduled to work—win!
• We dodged an incoming storm by minutes and stayed completely dry.
• Grandma came along and got the BEST smiles.
• And Notre Dame looked gorgeous, even under cloudy skies.
It was one of those sessions where everything just worked.
