Coronavirus: Episode 1
Years from now, when I recall how the Coronavirus impacted my life, I have no idea what I will be thinking about. I don’t pretend that I have the insight now. Time shades our perspective and changes are viewpoint.
This little film is something I made so that I can remember what the DeCicco’s life looked like during this crisis. I am a healthcare worker at a hospital, but I have not worked since March 16. I haven’t faced scary front-line workplace situations, but a lot of my friends do every day. My husband continues to work, and therefore provide, for our family. Thankfully, we’ve been able to stay on the giving side of generosity to this point. But, life has still changed, hasn’t it?
This is what life looked like from right before the pandemic hit, through Easter. We fill our days with eLearning, baby tending, exercise, game nights and the trampoline. Botched home haircuts, walks on repeat, a baptism at the tail-end of normal. Even though it was in a church service with only 10 people, it was still one of the happiest moments of my life. I can’t wait to worship with my church family again, go eat dinner at my mom’s, check out books at the library and let my kids go play with their friends. In the meantime, I am praying that whatever God is wanting to change in me through this experience will leave me better.
