A Heartfelt Family Session in South Bend: Capturing Moments of Love and Connection
Saying Goodbye to a Home That Holds So Much
When I walked through the front door of this South Bend home, I could feel it: history in the making. This wasn’t just any in-home session. This was the house—the one where mom and dad brought three babies home, where dad returned after a life-threatening accident, and where a thousand tiny, everyday moments happened that make up the best kind of memories. But now, they’re preparing to move into their dream home, and while they’re beyond excited, the transition is bittersweet. So before packing up the last boxes, we spent a day capturing it all.
Location: An In-Home Session in South Bend, Indiana
There’s something about an at-home session that just hits differently. It’s where families are their most natural selves—bare feet on familiar floors, kids running up and down the halls, and parents looking around, realizing just how much has changed. This house, with its well-loved rooms and a front porch that has seen every milestone, was the perfect backdrop for a session that was more about feelings than poses.

Details I’m Loving:
One of the most touching parts of the session was spending time in each child’s bedroom, where mom wanted to capture the spaces that had been theirs for years. Even Max, who has been the best sport about sharing the girliest room ever since his little brother arrived, had his turn in front of the camera. We even took a moment to revisit his old room, a space filled with countless childhood memories. More than just photos, mom wanted to preserve the sounds of their little voices and their playful imaginations through video, knowing how quickly time moves forward.
The family also took a break for a game of Kemps—a forgotten favorite that quickly became a reminder to add it back to family game night. Laughter and strategy filled the room, making it clear why games like these become treasured traditions. As we chatted before the session, mom got misty-eyed, reminiscing about how many times she had captured her family in this exact spot.
Client Love
“Thank you sooooooo much!!”
This session was a reminder of why I love what I do. A house might just be a place, but a home? A home is made of moments, and capturing them before they slip into memory is something truly special. If you’re about to say goodbye to a home that’s held your family’s history, I’d love to help you hold onto those memories forever.
