Michiana Engagement Pictures
Since I do not specialize in a certain genre of photography, I often have various upcoming sessions on my calendar. It's an adventure that keeps life and the job interesting to me. One week I might capture a toddler with a milestone birthday, the next week I might take some headshots for a local business owner. It keeps me on my toes and sharpens my skills. Currently, I am looking forward to some newborn photos, school portraits, film sessions, and engagement pictures.
I am particularly excited to have scheduled several engagement sessions over the next few months. Engagement pictures are some of my favorite sessions to schedule. (Although, to be honest, I really have a difficult time picking a favorite anything. Color, song, movie, food... I like too many things! My kids always make fun of me and say "Mom, what's your favorite food? I already know what you are going to say! You can't decide! I knew it!)
These sessions are so fun because people in love are fun to be around. Engagement sessions are all about the couple, even more-so than the wedding, in my opinion. A whole hour is dedicated to creating beautiful images of you and only you. No flower girls, mothers-in-laws or vogue bridesmaids are there to interrupt your portraits.
Some of my favorite places to shoot engagement (and couples) photography around the area are the beaches of St. Joe, MI and New Buffalo, IN, downtown South Bend, Notre Dame and the Mishawaka parks, especially Kate's Garden. My absolute favorite though, is when I can take pictures in a meaningful-to-the-couple location. A family farm, a lake cottage... that is the dream right there. There is a real love of place that comes through in the photography as well. If you are engaged and considering getting pictures done, I encourage you to think of a place that means something to you. You'll feel more relaxed and joyful and that will come through in the images!
