Granger, Indiana Photographer and Family Videographer

Hey, mama.

You probably remember that feeling. The one when you know your family is about to change and grow. I remember that feeling well. I had four and a half years with my oldest before my next baby was born. We were able to enjoy our oldest for such a long time as a family of three. We had our routines, our systems, our special times and our favorite activities. I remember thinking that there was no way on God’s green earth that I would be able to love another person to the depth I loved my first son. It had me a little panicked. What if I didn’t love the new baby as much? What if I resented the arrival a little bit because it messed up the life I had grown to love so much?

Can anyone else relate? I had this strange mixture of excitement for the next stage of life and dread about change and having to settle into a new normal.

Then… the baby comes and you do settle into a new normal and your heart somehow does expand to love this new baby even more than you ever thought possible.

This Granger family asked me over to tell the story of their right now.. those precious moments when they are soaking up their current life because they absolutely KNOW it is about to change. They are anticipating a new baby’s arrival. He or she will be joining a family so full of love already. Two young girls dominate those evening hours between dinner and bedtime, exhausting mom and dad into a collapse at the end of the day, just in time to get enough rest to somehow repeat the routine tomorrow. Oof! I also remember those exhausting days. Isn’t it so great that they eventually learn to play together and don’t need as much constant supervision? Those wash, rinse, repeat days of baby-kindergarten years are exhausting but so, so full of memories and joy. It was my job assignment to capture that wonder with the routine for this family, so that when they are years removed from it, they have a little time capsule of nostalgia to enjoy.

These photo and film sessions are without a doubt THE best way to capture these moments. I love a photograph, people, but it just won’t do the same job as a video. I’d love to capture your family’s current stage with a video and photo session. Inquire today!
